Valachi Downs has announced it will stand dual Group 1 winning sprinter Ten Sovereigns in 2020.
Winner of the Middle Park Stakes at two then the July Cup at Newmarket at three, Ten Sovereigns (No Nay Never) has just completed his first season at Coolmore in Ireland.
Gareth Downey, general manager of Valachi Downs, said in a statement the stud was delighted to offer Ten Sovereigns to southern hemisphere breeders.
“We are delighted to further develop the partnership with Coolmore, and stand the fast and precocious juvenile colt Ten Sovereigns this season,” Downey said.
“Like U S Navy Flag he has a speed profile, and can physically be described as a beautifully scopey individual. We believe this exceptionally fast duo of elite sprinters will complement each other on the Valachi roster.
“Our goal is to pull together a stallion lineup of high quality individuals that are genetically and physically suited to the New Zealand market, with a mix of local and international bloodlines.
“While the industry is in a challenging place at the moment, New Zealand breeders are a resilient bunch and we want to support them in the best possible way with an elite and diverse roster.”
Ten Sovereigns will stand for NZ$20,000 plus gst while U S Navy Flag will stand his second New Zealand season for NZ$17,500 plus gst.
