Stay Inside staked his claim as Australia’s leading two-year-old with a dominant score in Saturday’s Gr1 Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill.
Perfectly positioned in fourth place as Profiteer led to the home turn, Stay Inside was able to challenge unhindered early in the straight and quickened into the lead 200m out before drawing clear.
It is the third win from four starts for Stay Inside, sold as a weanling by Kingstar Farm for $60,000 before making $200,000 as a yearling when purchased by his trainers Richard and Michael Freedman.
Stay Inside is one of 48 live foals from the first-crop of Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes winner Extreme Choice (Not A Single Doubt) conceived at $38,500 at Newgate Farm. Extreme Choice covered 105 mares last season at $22,000.
The Golden Slipper win has propelled Extreme Choice to the top of the first-season sires list with four winners from 10 runner with three stakes performers.

Stay Inside’s dam Nothin Leica Storm (Anabaa) is a winner and the granddam Nothin’ Leica (Nothin’ Leica Dane) won in Sydney and a half-sister to Listed Park Stakes at Sandown runner-up Convent Girl (Snippets), the dam of Listed Recognition Stakes in Queensland winner Wonderful Lass (Catbird).
Nothin’ Leica is also a half-sister to Success Tale, the dam of Gr1 Caulfield Guineas winner and sire Wonderful World (Agnes World).
