Regal Power lands Railway Stakes

Winner of the WA Derby earlier this year, Regal Power was racing for the second time this preparation and after being settled towards the rear of the field finished powerfully in the home straight to reel in Best Of Days inside the final strides to win going away.

Regal Power has now won five of his 15 starts, placing in a further six and earning owner/breeder Bob Peters $1,094,970.

Regal Power is the sixth Gr. 1 winner for Golden Slipper winning sire Pierro (Lonhro), who advertised at a fee of $88,000 at Coolmore in the Hunter Valley this season.

Pierro now has three Gr.1 winners out of mares by Redoute’s Choice (Danehill) following ATC Derby winner Levendi and Kingston Town Classic winner Arcadia Queen and he also has Gr.1 VRC Oaks winner Pinot with Danehill as her maternal grandsire and this seasons Spring Champion Stakes winner Shadow Hero out of a mare by Casino Prince, a grandson of Danehill.

Regal Power is a brother to Gr.2 Western Australia Derby winner Action, their dam Broadway Belle (Redoute’s Choice) a winner of five races including the L.R. Jungle Dawn Classic in Perth.

Broadway Belle is a sister to L.R. Burgess Quee Stakes winner Antique Belle (Redoute’s Choice) and Perth winner Arcadia (Redoute’s Choice), the dam of Gr.1 Kingston Town Classic winner Arcadia Queen (Pierro), Gr.2 Western Australia Derby winner Arcadia Dream (Domesday) and Gr.3 A J Scahill Stakes winner Arcadia Prince (Pierro).

Broadway Belle has an unraced two-year-old colt Vanman (Vancouver) that was passed in at the Inglis Australian Easter sale, a yearling filly by American Pharoah and has foaled a filly this spring by Pierro.
