Pixie Knight is the first SW for Maurice winning Sunday’s Gr3 Nikkan Sports Sho Shinzan Kinen (1600m) at Chukyo.
Pixie Knight made all the running and was first for home, staying on strongly to defeat Rooks Nest (Maurice) by 1-1/4 lengths with Bathrat Leon (Kizuna) in third, the trip completed in 1:33.30.
It is the second win from three starts for the Northern Racing-bred Pixie Knight.
Pixie Knight is one of two winners out of Pixie Hollow (King Halo), a winner of three races in Japan.
The granddam Rhein Regina (Sakura Bakushin O) is a half-sister to three stakes winners in Japan including Danon Come On (Symboli Kris S) and Queen’s Barn (Special Week).
The fourth dam A Kiss For Luck (Reflected Glory) won the Gr1 Vanity Invitational in the USA.
Japanese Horse of the Year in 2015, Maurice (Screen Hero) stands at Shadai Stallion Station and shuttled to Arrowfield Stud. His oldest Australian offspring are two-year-olds.
