First for Joshua Tree

Top Max is the first SW for Joshua Tree winning Sunday’s Grand Prix de la Region Grand Est (2100m) at Strasbourg.

Fourth before the home straight, Top Max cam wide in the home straight to find the outside rail then stay on strongly to defeat Gourmet (Dunkerque) by 2-1/2 lengths with Dato (Mount Nelson) third.

It is the fourth win from 15 starts for Top Max, previously Gr3 placed in France and Germany.

He is the best of five winners out of the Deauville winner Risky Nizzy (Cape Cross).

Winner of the Gr1 Canadian International Stakes three times, Joshua Tree (Montjeu) retired to stud in 2014 in France and now stands at Kilbarry Lodge Stud in Ireland.
