Ranch Hand is the first SW for Dunaden winning Thursday’s Rose Bowl Stakes (2 miles) at Newmarket.
Ranch Hand was able to come through along the inside two furlongs out and then held out Withhold (Champs Elysees) score.
Ranch Hand is one of three winners out of Victoria Montoya (High Chaparral), a winner of three races and Listed placed in the March Stakes at Goodwood and Esher Stakes at Sandown.
Victoria Montoya is a half-sister to Gr2 Oettingen Rennen winner Passing Glance (Polar Falcon), Gr3 Prix du Palais Royal at Longchamp winner Hidden Meadow (Selkirk) and Listed winners Kingsclere (Fairy King) and Scorned (Selkirk).
Victoria Montoya is also a half-sister to Listed placed Casual Glance (Sinndar), the dam of Hong Kong Gr3 winner Ka Ying Star (Cityscape).
Dunaden (Nicobar) won 10 races including the Melbourne Cup and Caulfield Cup and retired to Overbury Stud in 2013 at a fee of £3,000.
He died as a result of injuries sustained in a paddock accident at Overbury in May, 2019. He was 13.
