Sunday’s Gr2 German 1000 Guineas winner Lancade is SW46 for Areion.
Trained by Yasmin Almenrader, Lancade (pic: Turf Times) finished powerfully from a midfield position to win going away by 1-1/3 lengths over No Limit Credit (Night Of Thunder) with Rose Of Kildare (Make Believe) a nose away third.
Lancade is out of the Listed-placed La Sabara (Sabiango), a sister to the Gr3 Orchird Stakes at Gulfstream Park winner La Luna de Miel (Monsun) and German Listed winner La Salvita (Big Shuffle).
Her granddam is German Listed placed La Hermana (Hernando) while the third dam La Candela (Alzao) is half-sister to three-time Gr1 winner and leading sire Lomitas (Niniski).
Areion (Big Shuffle) was rated the Champion 3YO Sprinter in Germany in 1998. He is advertised at €12,500 at Gestut Etzean in 2020.
