4 for Per Incanto

Bonham is the fourth Gr1 winner for Per Incanto winning Saturday’s Levin Stakes (1600m) for 3yos at Trentham.

Forced to race wide having started from an outside barrier, Bonham pressed forward early in the home straight and went clear before holding off the late rally from Brando to score.

Bred by Little Avondale Stud, Bonham was purchased for $160,000 at the 2019 Karaka Book 1 Yearling sale and is now the winner of four of her five starts for owner Gary Harding.

Bonham is the fourth Gr.1 winner for Per Incanto (Street Cry) and the 18th for Redoute’s Choice (Danehill) as a broodmare sire.

Joint Champion 3YO Sprinter in Italy in 2007, Per Incanto has Gr3 winner Miss Aotearoa and Listed winner Rocanto out of mares by Danasinga (Danehill). Street Cry is the sire of Gr.1 winners Shocking, Trekking and Stay With Me out of Redoute’s Choice mares and his Gr1 winning son Pride Of Dubai is out of a mare by Danehill (Danzig).

He was advertised at $17,500 at Little Avondale Stud last season.

Bonham is the best winner to date out of Fortune’s Choice (Redoute’s Choice), inbred 2×3 Danehill and a half-sister to L.R. Oaklands Plate at Morphettville winner Eagle Island (Fastnet Rock).

The granddam Banc De Fortune (Galileo) won three races in Sydney including the Listed Aspiration Handicap and finished runner-up in the Gr1 Arrowfield Stud Stakes.

She is a half-sister to Gr3 Chairman’s Handicap in Brisbane winner Zingam (Zabeel) and Zona, the dam of Gr1 VRC Oaks winner Faint Perfume (Shamardal).

The third-dam Danendri (Danehill) won the Gr1 Australasian Oaks and Gr1 Ansett Australia Stakes.
