Stormy is the first SW for Telperion winning the Gr2 Wakefield Challenge Stakes (1100m) for 2yos at Trentham.
Quickly settling on the lead, Stormy lead around the home turn and then stayed on strongly to defeat Fonsalette (Belardo) and Taoiseach (Highly Recommended).
The winner of both his starts for trainer Tony Pike, Stormy (pictured winning on debut. Pic Peter Ruberry) is the only foal of his dam Silent Night (Swiss Ace) and his granddam Christmas Angel (Hussonet) a winner in Australia and a half-sister to stakes-placed Light Up The Sky.
The third-dam Christmas Offer (Belong To Me) a winning half-sister to Gr2 Challenge Stakes at Randwick winner Light Up The World (Rory’s Jester), the dam of Gr3 Blue Diamond Preview winner World Peace (Danehill), herself the dam of Gr3 winner Chivalry (Street Cry).
Christmas Offer is also a half-sister to Listed Morphettville Guineas winner Presenting (Redoute’s Choice) as well as the dams of Gr1 winners Thorn Park (Spinning World) and Bentley Biscuit (Peintre Celebre).
Stormy is the only runner to date for Listed winner and Gr1-placed Telperion (Steet Cry), a half-brother to Gr1 winner Kementari who is bidding to bow out a winner later this afternoon in Perth.
Telperion is advertised at $5000 at Westbury Stud in 2020.
