Red Lark is SW14 and the second Gr1 winner for Epaulette after winning Sunday’s Del Mar Oaks (9f).
Red Lark came with her challenge under Drayden van Dyke in the home straight and overpowered her rivals to defeat California Kook (Boisterous) by one length with Warren’s Showtime (Clubhouse Ride) in third.
Red Lark was twice unsold at auction in Ireland and commenced her career in Ireland where she was placed for her breeder Sonia Rogers.
Now in the colours of Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners she is twice a winner and placed three times from 12 starts.
She is a half-sister to 10 winners including the Gr3 Ballysax Stakes at Leopardstown third All Set To Go (Verglas).
Their dam Firecrest (Darshaan) won the Listed Galtres Stakes at York and a sister to Gentle Thoughts, the dam of Gr2 Henry II Stakes at Sandown winner Blue Bajan (Montjeu).
Firecrest is also half-sister to Trois Etoiles (Alysheba), the winning dam of Calcutta Oaks winner Artesia (Multidimensional).
Gr1 Golden Rose Stakes winner Epaulette (Commands) has four crops of racing age in Europe and Australia.
He is advertised at $22,000 at Darley Kelvinside in 2020.
