Roheryn is SW89 for Lonhro after winning the Gr3 Show County Quality (1200m) at Randwick.
Allowed to settle midfield to the home turn, Roheryn came through between horses late to hold out the fast finishing Probabeel (Savabeel) by a long-head with Special Reward (Demerit) a nose off third.
The Godolphin-homebred Roheryn is a half-brother to six winners including Gr1 Victoria Derby winner Benicio (More Than Ready) and the Gr2 Moonee Valley Fillies Classic winner Romneya (Red Ransom), the dam of Melbourne winner and Gr3 placed Matilija (Medaglia d’Oro).
It is the sixth win from 14 starts for the six-year-old gelding.
Inbred 4×4 to Sir Tristram, Roheryn is also a half-brother to Rhema (Fusaichi Pegasus), the winning dam of Gr2 Sweet Embrace Stakes at Rosehill winner Always Allison (More Than Ready) and Gr2 Silver Slipper Stakes third Kyria (Encosta de Lago).
Another half-sister Rose Trail (Kingmambo) is the dam of French Gr3 winner Rosa Imperial (Pivotal).
Roheryn’s dam Mannington (Danehill) won the Gr3 Blue Diamond Prelude and placed in the Gr1 Newmarket Handicap and Blue Diamond Stakes.
Horse of the Year and Champion Lonhro (Octagonal) is advertised at $66,000 at Darley Kelvinside in 2020.
