Bred in partnership by Larissa Kneip, Jeremie Bossert and Valerie Haendler, Fantastic Spirit first sold as a foal for €25,000 by Artemis Bloodstock Investments at the Arqana December Breeding Stock Sale and then for €50,000 to Jean-Claude Rouget at the Arqana Breeze-Up Sale two years later.
Inbred 4×3 to Gr3 Prix de Lutece winner Floripedes, Fantastic Spirit Spirit is out of Fantastic Cuix (Fantastic Light), a half-sister to Clizia (Machiavellian), the dam of Gr1 Prix de l’Abbaye and King’s Stand Stakes winner Goldream (Oasis Dream).
His granddam is a half-sister to the Montjeu (Sadler’s Wells).
Three-time Gr1 winner Charm Spirit (Invincible Spirit) has six Group winners, four of them in Australia and New Zealand headed by Gr2 winning fillies Aretha and Fascino.
He is advertised at £8,500 at Tweenhills Stud in England in 2020 and price on application at Windsor Park Stud in New Zealand.
