57 for Uncle Mo

Saturday’s Gr3 Los Alamitos Derby winner Uncle Chuck is SW57 for Uncle Mo.

Making just his second start, the Bob Baffert-trained Uncle Chuck faced only three rivals and after stalking the early speed cruised into the lead around the home turn and then went clear, going on to defeat stablemate Thousand Words (Pioneerof The Nile) by four lengths with Cosmo (Distorted Humor) a further seven lengths away in third.

A $250,000 Keeneland September yearling, Uncle Chuck has won both his starts and earned $120,000.

Inbred to Caro and Mr Prospector, the Stonestreet-bred Uncle Chuck is a half-brother to last year’s Gr3 Doubledogdare Stakes winner Electric Forest (Curlin), their dam Forest Magic (Unbridled’s Song) winner of the Gr2 Honorable Miss Handicap at Saratoga.

Uncle Chuck is the 32nd Graded winner for Uncle Mo, who also Gr1 winner Unbridled Mo bred on a similar Unbridled cross.

Uncle Mo (Indian Charlie) is advertised at $125,000 at Coolmore Stud in Kentucky in 2020.
