Alkumait is SW44 for Showcasing after winning Saturday’s Gr2 Mill Reef Stakes (6f) at Newbury.
Settled off the early speed set by Fivethousandtoone, Alkumait crept closer on the rails side approaching the final two furlongs then stayed on strongly to defeat Fivethousandtoone (Frankel) by three-quarters of a length with Rhythm Master (Dark Angel) in third.
Alkumait first sold for 150,000gns as a Tattersalls December Foal before making 220,000gns at the Tattersalls October yearling sale for Shadwell Estates, Alkumait is now the winner of two of his three races.
