Exceptional is SW40 for Dutch Art after winning Friday’s Arran Scottish Sprint (5.5f) for fillies and mares at Ayr.
Racing up the centre of the track, Exceptional came under a ride fully two furlongs out but pulled out plenty to defeat Last Empire (Pivotal) and Dandy’s Beano (Dandy Man).
It is the third win from seven starts for the Cheveley Park Stud homebred.
Exceptional is a sister to Cathedral Stakes at Salisbury winner Don’t Touch and half-sister to three other winners.
Their dam Expressive (Falbrav) a winning half-sister to Gr1 Matron Stakes at Leopardstown winner Echelon (Danehill), the dam of dual Gr1 winner Integral (Dalakhani), and to dual Gr2 Celebration Mile at Goodwood winner Chic (Machiavellien).
The granddam Exclusive (Polar Falcon) won the Gr1 Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot and a half-sister to 2000 Guineas winner and sire Entrepreneur (Sadler’s Wells).
Gr1 winner Dutch Art (Medicean) stands at Cheveley Park Stud in Newmarket.
