35 for Written Tycoon

Odeum is SW35 for Written Tycoon winning Saturday’s Jim Moloney Stakes (1400m) for 3yo fillies at Caulfield.

Enjoying a trouble-free run, Odeum was poised to challenge before the home straight and then finished best  to defeat Aidensfield (Dissident) by 1-1/2 lengths with Mossie Monster (Sebring) one length away in third.

A $420,000 Magic Millions yearling purchase by now part-owner Sheamus Mills, the Newhaven Park Stud-bred Odeum has won two of her three starts.

She is a half-sister to Listed Brian Crowley Stakes winner and Gr3 placed Goodfella (Snitzel), their dam Movie (Red Ransom) a Sydney winner at two and runner up in the Listed Ken Russell Memorial at the Gold Coast.

The granddam Strawberry Storm (Thunder Gulch) won the Listed Keith Mackay Handicap at Randwick at two and a half-sister to Miss Barley (Fastnet Rock), the dam of Gr1 Lightning Stakes at Flemington winner Gytrash (Lope de Vega).

Written Tycoon (Iglesia) is advertised at $77,000 at Arrowfield Stud in 2020.
