Goolwa is SW21 for Australia winning the Beckford Stakes (14f) for fillies and mares at Bath.

Waited with towards the rear to the home turn, Goolwa was able to come through between horses and then once in the clear finished strongly to run down the front running Brunnera (Dubawi) and score by half a length with Sacred Rhyme (Lope de Vega) a further 1-3/4 lengths off in third.

It is the third win from eight starts for Goolwa, a €50,000 Goffs weanling and then selling for the same price at the same venue as a yearling.

Inbred 3×4 Sadler’s Wells, the three-year-old is a half-sister to four winners including Gr3 Gladness Stakes at The Curragh and Gr3 Amethyst Stakes at Leopardstown winner Onenightidreamed (Footstepsinthesand).

The dam Pivotalia (Pivotal) a winner in Great Britain, the granddam Viscaria (Barathea) a winner in Ireland and placed in the Listed Prix Panacee at Toulouse.

Viscaria is a half-sister to four stakes winners including Gr2 Premio Ellington and Gr1 Gran Criterium third Ivan Luis (Lycius), Gr2 UAE 2000 Guineas winner Stagelight (Montjeu) and French Listed winner Amathia Darshaan), the dam of three stakes winners including Gr3 Winter Hill Stakes at Windsor winner Distant Memories (Falbrav).

Derby winner Australia (Galileo) is advertised at €25,000 at Coolmore in Ireland in 2021.
