19 for Night Of Thunder

Strutt Stakes (2100m) at Hobart winner Hela is SW19 for Night Of Thunder.

Hela led almost all the way to score comfortably, ridden clear into the home straight and staying on well to defeat Chequerboard (Fastnet Rock) by 3-3/4 lengths with the minor prize going to Mystique Falcon (Pride Of Dubai).

It is the fifth win from as many starts for the Alva Stud-bred Hela, a $30,000 Magic Millions Tasmania yearling

She is a half-sister to Gr3 Hobart Cup winner Toorak Affair (Toorak Toff) with her granddam Rich Silk (Rizzi) a winner in North America and a half-sister to North American Listed winner Silky Sweep (End Sweep) as well as Cut Class Leanne, the dam of Gr2 Sanford Stakes at Saratoga winner Chapel Royal (Montbrook) and to Silk Ending, the dam of Australian Group 2 winner Gypsy Diamond (Not A Single Doubt).

Further back, Hela’s fourth dam is Ciboulette (Chop Chop), the dam of Champion filly Fanfreluche and successful sire Night Shift.

Hela is out of a mare by Redoute’s Choice (Danehill) and Night Of Thunder has stakes winners A Beautiful Night (Gr3), Pocket Square (Gr3), Dubai Love, Keep Busy, River Night and Stormy Girl out of Danehill-line mares.

Night Of Thunder (Dubawi) is advertised at €75,000 at Kildangan Stud in 2021.
