19 for Invincible Spirit

Nazeef is the 19th Gr1 winner for Invincible Spirit after landing the Falmouth Stakes (8f) at Newmarket.

Stalking the leader Terebellum to two furlongs out, Nazeef struck the front inside the final furlong then stayed on strongly to defeat Billesdon Brook (Champs Elysees) by a neck with Terebellum (Sea The Stars) the same distance away in third.

It is the sixth consecutive win for the Shadwell Stud homebred, also the third Gr1 win for Dubawi as a broodmare sire.

Nazeef’s dam Handassa won the Listed Garnet Stakes at Naas and a half-sister to Gr2 San Gabrial Stakes at Santa Anita winner Desert Stone (Fastnet Rock) and Gr3 Darley Stakes at Newmarket winner Euginio (Fastnet Rock).

Invincible Spirit (Green Desert) has enjoyed good success with mares from the Mr Prospector sire line with Gr1 winners Kingman, Territories, Lawman, Hooray, National Defense, Royal Meeting and Signs Of Blessing bred this way.

This has extended to his son Kingman with Gr1 winner Palace Pier while Gr1 winner Charm Spirit has New Zealand Gr3 winner Scorpz out of a Dubawi mare.

Invincible Spirit is advertised at €100,000 at the Irish National Stud in 2020. He was also represented by Irish Listed winner Make A Challenge and French winner Black Fever on Friday.
