Belle Fascino is SW18 for Per Incanto winning the Gr3 White Robe Lodge Stakes (1600m) at Wingatui.
Settled along the inside in sixth place to the home turn, Belle Fascino was needing room and when she found a gap 200m out drove through and then finished best to defeat Ray’s Command and Goodanya in a driving finish, the first six home covered by 1-1/2 lengths.
It is the eighth win for the Stephen Marsh-trained seven-year-old, previously third in this race.
Belle Fascino is the best of four winners left by Playing For Keeps (Keeper) with her granddam Japonica (Shinko King) an unraced half-sister to three stakes performers including Group 2 Taranaki Cup winner Zafar (Zabeel).
Further back the fourth dam Fair Eve (Sovereign Edition) is a sister to WS Cox Plate winner Abdul (Sovereign Edition).
Belle Fascino’s broodmare sire is Keeper (Danehill) and Per Incanto has done well with Danehill-line stallions including this season’s Gr1 winner Bonham (Redoute’s Choice), Gr3 Miss Oatearoa (Danasinga) and Rocanto (Danasinga).
Gr3 winner Per Incanto (Street Cry) was advertised at $15,000 at Little Avondale Stud in 2020.
