Miss Aotearoa is SW16 for Per Incanto winning Saturday’s Gr3 Gold Trail Stakes at Hastings.

Wide and in sixth place into the home straight, Miss Aotearoa finished determinedly to run down Sweet Anna (Tavistock) and Babylon Berlin (All Too Hard) to score by a neck.

Miss Aotearoa is the third stakes winner out of Gr2 Sir Tristram Fillies Classic third Danex (Danasinga) following Gr2 Matriarch Stakes at Flemington winner Oceanex (Ocean Park) and Gr3 Rough Habit Plate winner Amexed (Pentire).

Miss Aotearoa is also a half-sister to Group placed Marcellina (Savabeel) and Digital Fortress (Savabeel) and to the Melbourne winner Danahere (Dehere), the dam of Brisbane Listed winner Saint Patricks Day (Excelebration).

Inbred 4×4 to Ahonoora, the Tony Rider homebred Miss Aotearoa is now the winner of two of her three starts.

Per Incanto (Street Cry) has Listed winner Rocanto out of a mare by Danasinga (Danehill) and also has Gr3 placed Cutting Up Rough with Danasinga as his maternal grandsire and Gr2 placed Glorious Beijing out of a mare by Danske (Danehill).

He is advertised at $15,000 at Little Avondale Stud in 2020.
