14 for Australia

Galileo Chrome is SW14 for Australia after winning Saturday’s Yeats Stakes (13f) at The Curragh.

Settled off the pace in the seven-horse field, Galileo Chrome came to challenge two furlongs out and produced the best finish to draw clear over the final furlong.

Galileo Chrome defeated Emperor Of The Sun (Galileo) by five lengths with Red Kelly (Manduro) in third.

Bred by Mohamed Ali Meddeb and unsold for €75,000 at Goffs as a yearling, the Joseph O’Brien-trained Galileo Chrome is now the winner of three of his four races.

He is the second winner for Curious Mind (Dansili), a winning half-sister to Listed winner and placed in the Gr1 The St Leger Michelangelo (Galileo) as well as Listed winner Private Secretary (Kingman).

The granddam is Listed placed Intrigued (Darshaan), a sister to Approach, the dam of Gr1 winner Coronet, and a half-sister to Poule d’Essai des Poulains winner Aussie Rules (Danehill).

Like his sire Galileo, Australia is enjoying good success with mares from the Danehill sire-line, with Gr2 Leo de Fury, Gr3 Sir Ron Priestley and SW King Carney, out of a Dansili mare like Galileo Chrome, bred this way.
