Love Tap enjoyed an uncontested lead to the home turn and then accelerated further clear and although getting tired had done enough to defeat Street Dancer (Pride Of Dubai) and Bucharest (Deep Impact).
It is the fourth win from as many starts for Love Tap, bred to southern hemisphere time and sold for $110,000 as a Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling to Dynamic Syndications when consigned by Coolmore.
Love Tap is one of five winners out of Smokey’s Love (Forestry) and is a half-brother to Gr1 Clement L. Hirsch Stakes winner Fighting Mad (New Year’s Day).
Smokey’s Love is a half-sister to North American Listed winner Monsoon Rain (Old Trieste) and Gr3 Canadian Derby runner-up The Visualiser (Giant’s Causeway).
The granddam Smokey Mirage (Holy Bull) won the Listed Prairie Gold Lassie Stakes at Prairie Meadows and a sister to UAE Gr3 winner Estimraar and half-sister to Gr1 Florida Derby winner High Fly (Atticus).
