Tell Your Daddy is SW136 for Scat Daddy making all the running in Monday’s Gr2 Bernard Baruch Hcp (8.5f) on turf at Saratoga.

Allowed an uncontested lead Tell Your Daddy was able to dictate terms and clear into the home straight stayed on strongly to defeat No Word (Silent Name) by half a length with L’Imperator (Holy Roman Emperor) a length off third (pic: NYRA).

Originally a $250,000 Fasig-Tipton yearling, the five-year-old gelding was claimed by trainer Tom Morley for $40,000 in January and is now the winner of four of his 24 starts and advanced his earnings to $325,646.

The first graded winner in the immediate generations of his female family, Tell Your Daddy is a half-brother to Listed-placed Dynadrive (Temple City). Their dam Harbingerofthings (Rockport Harbor) a Listed winner of the Jamestown Stakes at Colonial Downs and a half-sister to A Lover’s Question (Spring At Last), also a winner of the Jamestown Stakes.

The granddam Kelly’s Question (Mr Greeley) a winning half-sister to Listed winner What It Is (Parfaitement).

Gr1 winner Scat Daddy (Johannesburg) dropped dead at Ashford Stud Kentucky on December 14. Retired to stud in 2008 and standing at $30,000 in his first season, at the time of his death he was responsible for 69 stakes winners and advertised at $100,000 for the 2016 season.
