Second Of July is SW2 for Jack Milton winning Sunday’s Gr3 Futurity Stakes (6f) on turf at Belmont.
Second last to the home turn, Second Of July swung wide into the land and then finished best to defeat After Five (The Factor) by a half length with Momos (Distorted Humor) the same distance away in third.
Second Of July is raced by breeder Bryan Hilliard and has won both his starts.
He is the first winner for his dam Wichita (Curlin), an unraced half-sister to Listed California Oaks at Golden Gate winner Dynasty Of Her Own (Shanghai Bobby) and to US Listed winner and Gr3 British Columbia Derby runner-up Bluegrass Angus (Bluegrass Cat).
The granddam Lady Dynasty (Richter Scale) won four times and was Listed-placed three times in the USA and a half-sister to four stakes winners including Alberta Derby winner Digital Dan (Ogygian).
