Mo’Unga is SW101 for Savabeel winning Saturday’s Ducify Quality (1500m) at Rosehill.
Mo’Unga was switched off heels in the home straight before finishing best to defeat Global Quest (More Than Ready) and Jet Propulsion (Rubick) comfortably.
It is the third win from as many starts for the Chris Waller-trained 3yo which cost Aquis Farm $NZ325,000 as a yearling at the New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Premier sale.
His dam Chandelier (O’Reilly) won in New Zealand and finished runner-up in the Gr3 Lowland Stakes. She is a sister to the Gr2 Auckland Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes winner Irlanda and a half-sister to the Macau Listed placed Maverick Star (Desert King).
Savabeel (Zabeel) has enjoyed great success with mares by O’Reilly (Last Tycoon) who also stood at Waikato Stud and has Gr1 winners Diademe, Costume, Savaria and Embellish bred on the cross.
