Current Option is SW33 for Camelot after winning the Platinum Stakes (7f) at Cork.
Current Option came through to strike the front inside the final furlong to defeat Soul Search (Zoffany) by half a length with Southern Horse (Roman Ruler) a head away third.
Inbred to Sadler’s Wells and Danehill, Current Option sold for 62,000gns as a Tattersalls October Book2 yearling to Stroud Coleman and then for 85.000gns at last year’s Tattersalls July Sale.
The four-year-old is a half-brother two winners in Italy, their dam Coppertop (Exceed And Excel) a half-sister to Irish Listed winner Canary Row (Holy Roman Emperor).
Camelot has this year’s Irish Oaks winner Even So out of a mare by Danehill, the sire of Exceed And Excel, and also has Gr1 winner Wonderment out of a mare by Konigstiger (Tiger Hill).
This same Danehill influence is seen in Gr3 Alanouk, Degraves and Wait Forever as well as Listed winner Lady Wannabe.
Camelot is advertised at €40,000 at Coolmore in Ireland in 2020.
