Gear Up is SW 94 for Teofilo after winning Wednesday’s Gr3 Acomb Stakes (7f) at York.
The Mark Johnston-trained colt broke smartly and was always prominent under Silvestre de Sousa, chasing determinedly over the final two furlongs to defeat Spycatcher (Vadamos) by half a length.
A €52,000 Goffs yearling, the Jim Bolger bred Gear Up is now unbeaten in two starts, having won over the same course and distance at the end of July.
Gear Up is a brother to Gr3 winner Guaranteed, their dam Gearanai (Awesome Again) a half-sister to Argentinian Gr3 winner Plainswoman (Zensational).
The third-dam is four-time Gr1 winner Dispute (Danzig), whose wins included the Kentucky Oaks.
Unbeaten Champion juvenile Teofilo (Galileo) is advertised at €40,000 at Kildangan Stud in Ireland in 2020.
