Normandy Bridge is SW40 for Le Havre winning Friday’s Gr3 Prix Thomas Bryon (1600m) for 2yos at Saint-Cloud.
Theo Bachelot adopted daring tactics on the heavy ground, spearing out to race alone down the outside rail in the home straight and tactics paid off with a three-quarter length defeat of Homeryan (Sea The Stars) and Naval Crown (Dubawi) a further four lengths away third in the five-horse field.
Consigned by Haras de Mezeray, Normandy Bridge sold for €80,000 at the Arqana October yearling when purchased by agent John Foote and the Stephanie Nigge-trained colt has won both his starts for Australian owner Gerry Ryan.
He is the fourth stakes winner out of the Gr3 Prix Fille de l’Air winner Aiglonne (Silver Hawk) following Gr1 Prix d’Ispahan winner Mekhtaal (Sea The Stars), Gr2 Prix Hocquart winner Democrate (Dalakhani) and the Gr3 Long Island Handicap winner Aigue Marine (Galileo).
Aiglonne is a half-sister to Gaily Tiara (Caerleon), the winning dam of Gr1 Prix Saint-Alary winner Germance (Silver Hawk).
Le Havre (Noverre) is advertised at €50,000 at Haras de Montfort & Preaux in 2020.
