Skazino is SW33 for Kendargent winning Saturday’s Grand Prix de Marseille (2000m).
Last of six through halfway, Skazino circled the field to come wide in the straight and duelled with Kenway (Galiway) over the final 150m to score by a short-head in a driving finish with Diamond Vendome (Style Vendome) four lengths away in third.
It is the ninth win from 20 starts for Skazino, a €22,000 Arqana yearling which finished fourth in this race last year and previously Listed-placed.
The four-year-old is a brother to Gr3 Prix Quincey at Deauville winner and Gr1 Champion Stakes placed Skalleti and to Listed Prix Ranelagh at Chantilly third Skalleto.
The dam Skallet (Muhaymin) won the Listed Prix Occitanie at Bordeaux and finished runner-up in the Gr3 Prix Fille de l’Air at Toulouse with Skazino’s granddam Siran (R B Chesne) a winner 16 times and Listed-placed in the Vase d’Argent.
Kendargent (Kendor) is advertised at €15,000 at the Haras de Colleville in France.
