Selino is SW31 for Champs Elysees winning the Sydney Cup (3200m) at Randwick.
Runner-up in last year’s Doncaster Cup, Selino made the most of his light weight to post a career best victory. Pressing forward to challenge before the home turn, Selino quickened into the lead early in the home straight and then stayed on strongly to defeat the mares Rondinella and Miami Bound.
Selino is the second Gr1 winner in Australia for Gr1 Hollywood Turf Cup winner Champs Elysees after the dual Australian Cup winner Harlem.
Selino is one of five winners out of Air Kiss (Red Ransom), an unraced half-sister to Gr1 Prix du Cadran winner Invermark (Machiavellian), Gr2 Princess Of Wales’s Stakes winner Craigsteel (Suave Dancer) and Scandinavian Champion Inchrory (Midyan), whose wins included the Gr3 Stockholm Cup.
The granddam Applecross (Glint Of Gold) won three races and finished runner-up in the Gr2 Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster.
Applecross is half-sister to Gr3 Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster winner Coigach (Niniski) and Listed Cheshire Oaks winner Kyle Rhea (In The Wings).
The third-dam Rynechra (Blakeney) won twice and a half-sister to Norwegian Gr3 winner Coulstry (High Top).
Further back Selino traces to Mumtaz Mahal through Sun Princess.
