Solar Star is SW14 for Zoustar after winning the Gai Waterhouse Classic (1350m) at Ipswich.

Solar Star led into the home straight and stayed on strongly to defeat Jami Lady (Spirit Of Boom) and Multaja (Medaglia d’Oro).

Solar Star is one of two winners out of Gr3 Darley Plate at Ellerslie winner Petty Cury (Not A Single Doubt), a half-sister to Listed Mr Tiz Trophy at Ellerslie winner Rio Fortune (Captain Rio).

The granddam Bahira (Volksraad) won the Gr3 Thompson Handicap at Trentham.

Solar Star is catalogued to sell as lot 76 at the Magic Millions National Sale on July 27.

A $NZ190,000 Karaka yearling when purchased by the BBA Ireland, Solar Star sold last year for $105,000 at the Magic Millions National Sale on the Gold Coast to agent Damon Gabbedy and has now won eight of her 25 races.

Gr1 winner Zoustar (Northern Meteor) is out of a Redoute’s Choice (Danehill) mare and Solar Star is 3×3 Redoute’s Choice.

Zoustar’s Gr1 winning daughter Sunline is inbred to Danehill and Zoustar also has stakes winners Mizzy, Madam Rouge, Sun City and Persuader with Danehill duplications.

Zoustar shuttles between Widden Stud in Australia and Tweenhills Stud in England.
